Our Aims for Flora

� To organize and participate in events that will benefit or promote the district of Singleton.

� To assist in education and training within the local community.

� To raise the profile of the Giantess, as a symbol of the Singleton community.

Flora Comes to Life

Flora is a wicker and paper mashie constructed giant made up of several stages which when put together forms the Flora we love. The construction is not that complicated once you understand what needs to be done in what order and takes about 20mins to put her up.
When she fully assembled she is able to be lifted by one person, so she is able to dance and move much more than a lot of her fellow giants.

There are many different parts (the obvious head, body, arms and also clothes) that make up our giant.

The first stage is to put the skirt on making sure the seeing window sits at the front.
On with her skirt
The next stage is putting her head on.....
Up with her head..... ..... and into place
with the head in place we put her top on.
Now her top goes on.
Now she is looking more like a giant but wait we must put on her cloak.
Then her cape.
Now the arms can be put in place.
In with her right arm.... ...and her left.
Now we have the arms in it leaves the finishing touches. Her rope belt and her bouquet.

There you have it Flora the Singleton Giant is ready for the crowds.
